We had heard so much about Hamburg and many people recommended to visit the city, therefore we went for a stroll along the Elbe. As we could have predicted we were not the only ones.
Luckily it was easy to find a central parking for us, even with a view to the famous Elbphilarmony. From our parking we walked up the river and around the Speicherstadt and Hafencity areas.

The Elbphilarmony is the new landmark of Hamburg, a modern concert hall built on top of an old storage building at the harbour, which was finished in 2016.

The Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings standing on timber-pile foundations were built from 1883 to 1927.

At the fish market we found a nice restaurant, where we went to sample some of the typical fish dishes of Hamburg at the "Alt Helgoländer Fischerstube".
